Atlas Shrugged Movie News

Welcome to The Atlas Society’s page for news and insight on the film adaptation of Ayn Rand’s Atlas ShruggedThis page is your site for the latest news on the movie project, and a wealth of background information on the novel and its ideas.

Since it was published in 1957, Rand’s epic novel has attracted legions of admirers, sold many millions of copies, and become a landmark of American fiction. Yet adapting it for the screen has proved to be a challenge of equally epic proportions. Atlas Shrugged is one of the few major novels of the 20th century that have never been filmed.

The adptation now underway is a joint effort of Baldwin Entertainment ("Ray"); TAS board member John Aglialoro, who holds the screen rights to the novel; and Lionsgate ("Crash").

Bidinotto Reports on Atlas Shrugged Movie Panel

Robert Bidinotto, editor of The New Individualist magazine, reports on the panel discussion about the planned Atlas Shrugged movie that took place on October 6 at The Atlas Society's 50th anniversary celebration of Ayn Rand's great novel.

The panel consisted of the major members of the movie team: executive producer and Atlas Society trustee John Aglialoro; producers Howard and Karen Baldwin; director Vadim Perelman; and Lionsgate studio vice chair Michael Burns.

DVDs of the entire event, including the movie panel, will be available soon from the Objectivism Store.
